भ्यालेन्टाइन्स डे को इतिहास १औँ शताब्दीको रोम राज्यमा पुग्छ। भ्यालेन्टाइन नामक एक लोकप्रिय प्रेमीको नाममा बसेको दिवस आज विश्वभरी सेलिब्रेसनको दिन बन्न सफल भएको छ। भ्यालेन्टाइन दे भनेको जसरी नै माया, प्रणय र यौनका निम्ति नेवाः समाजमा पनि एउटा दिन छ, जसलाई ‘मतिना पारु’ भनिन्छ।

मतिना पारु, लोकप्रिय चाड यःमरि पुन्हिको भोली पल्ट पर्दछ। पुन्हि भन्नाले नेपालभाषामा पूर्णिमा भनेझैँ, त्यसको भोली पल्ट, पारु भन्नाले प्रतिपदा बुझिन्छ। मतिना भनेको माया।

यःमरि पुन्हि सँग सम्बन्धित थुप्रै संस्कार र संस्कृतिहरू छन्। लोकप्रिय रूपमा खानाको परिकार यःमरिको चर्चा हुँदै गर्दा यसको वातावरण, मौसम र स्वास्थ्य सँगको सम्बन्ध बारे कुराकानी गर्दा यसको अर्को पक्ष भनेको माया पनि हो। परम्परागत समाज अहिले जस्तो माया प्रेममा विषयमा खुल्ला थिएन। यसरी बन्धनले बाँधिएको समाजमा यःमरि पुन्हिका दिन टोल टोलमा गएर ‘यःमरि फ्वनेगु’ परम्परा अनुसार यःमरि माग्दै जाने क्रममा आफ्नो प्रेमी खोज्ने र प्रेमी सँग सुटुक्क कुरा गर्ने चलन थियो। यसै क्रममा यःमरि पुन्हिकै दिन भेट्न आउने कुराकानी राखेर फर्कनेहरू त्यसको भोलीपल्ट भेट्ने गर्दछन्।

त्यो दिन ‘मतिना पारु’। अहिले जस्तो फोन मोबाइल नभएको बेलामा यःमरि फ्वनेगु क्रममा सुटुक्क भेटी, कागजमा लेखेर सुटुक्क आदन प्रदान गरी कता कहिले भिट्न आउने कुरा साट्छन्। त्यसै अनुसार मतिना पारुका दिन भेटघाट हुन्छ। आफ्नो आमा बुबाले नदेख्ने नसुन्ने गरी राती घरमा केटा बोलाउने, आफ्नो घर परिवार बाहिर हुँदा प्रेमी बोलाउने परम्परा थियो।

There is a day in the society called' Matina Paru'. Matina Paru, Popular festival Yahmari Punhi's tomorrow. Saying Punhi is like saying Purnima in Nepal language, it will be understood by saying Paru tomorrow. Matina is love. There are many cultures and cultures related to YamariPunhi. While popularly discussing food dish Yahmari, the other side of it is love as it talks about the environment, weather and health. 

Traditional society was not open to the subject of love and love like now. In this bonded society, on the day of death, there was a trend of looking for a lover and talking silently with the lover while going to to the toll toll on the day of 'Yahmari Fwnegu' tradition. In the same way, those who return after having a conversation that they will meet on the next day. That day 'Matina paru'. 

When there is no phone and mobile like now, Yahmari Fwanegu meets silently, writing on paper and giving a secret habit and exchange the things that will come to meet. In the same way, Matina Paruka meets on the day. 

It was a tradition of calling a boy at night so that his parents can't see and hear, calling a lover when their family is out of their house.
