Gaijatra is the only one cultural festival of Nepal which pays homage to the deceased members of the family and fulfills the cultural beliefs and rituals that the departed soul will have lasting peace and a better place. This pilgrimage inspires the community to cultivate the highest identity of human civilization.

Sa Paru, the festival, celebrated in Nepal, mainly in Kathmandu valley by the Newar. The festival commemorates the death of people during the year.
